HOT SITE OR HOT REPLACEMENT
FSSI offers a unique approach to recovery from a business interruption. Realizing that, should a disaster occur, your key people can do the most good near the recovery area, we will offer you the choice of a hot site or Hot Replacement. Hot Replacement means we can ship you a system to arrive in 48 hours after your notification call is placed to us. This keeps your key people local and expedites the time required by communications providers to make adjustments to your communications arrangements in your locality. If the disaster is spread over a wide area encompassing your location, and no temporary space is obtainable, we will make our Hot Site available to you. You don’t have to make your decision on which to use until you assess the situation and decide which alternative is best for your Credit Union. Most of our customers have chosen Hot Replacement because of convenience.
TRADITIONAL HOT SITE
A Credit Union sends its data, software and the operating system to FSSI. We load these and run our system for you for 30 days. After 30 days the Credit Union is responsible for running the system. FSSI will send you the appropriate communications gear to bring your users onto the system so that you can run remotely. Testing is done once per year. Your people are not required at the Hot Site for testing or live situations.
HOT REPLACEMENT
A viable alternative is to let us ship you an RS/6000 for temporary use if you have a cold site near the Credit Union available for use such as empty office space or a branch. You can load your system and set up your network for use by your employees. This approach usually works best when you a location can be found for your employees to work. The equipment is the property of FSSI and will be returned within 30 days.
REPLACEMENT ONLY
FSSI will provide an RS/6000 for the Credit Union to resume data processing functions at a suitable customer site within 48 hours of notification. This system will be equivalent to the current configuration of the Credit Union and will become the property of the Credit Union. The system installation will be done at no charge. Charges associated with site preparation, including cabling and work stations, will be the Credit Union's responsibility.
